I [heart] SuddenLink

I know it's a little weird to be warm and fuzzy about one's cable/internet company, but I have to tell you that I really appreciate SuddenLink. First of all (and most of all, I suppose), whenever I call technical support or sales, I get to speak to someone who is relatively nearby. I spoke to Devin last night because our internet was downloading very slowly (almost dial-up speed). She re-set our modem and it kicked back up to the maximum that our modem could handle (1.5 Mb/s). She also told me that our service package was 8 Mb/s but that our older modem couldn't handle the speed. I went out last night and bought a new Surfboard modem and called Suddenlink again today. Keith helped me get it connected and I'm now screaming through the internet at 8.3 Mb/s. Both of these tech folks had a bit of a drawl/twang which always makes me feel more "at home".

I'm not making a commentary here on US industries outsourcing sales and service overseas. My appreciation for SuddenLink Communications is enough of a commentary on its own.
