Spain Day 2

Today was a great day! I slept for about 12 hours last night. I slept from about 10 last night until about 4:30 this morning. Then I couldn't sleep for a while so I read a few chapters in the new Grisham book Playing for Pizza. I fell back to sleep and finally got up this morning around 11. I felt so European. We played football in the park and then ate lunch around 3. We enjoyed some awesome gelato and came back to Tim & Amber's apartment. I went with Tim to an English-speaking church to teach an English class. It's 9:34 now and I still haven't had dinner. Here are some pictures from today:

Statues atop the Ministry of Agriculture building.

Another shot of the Ministry of Agriculture building, this time without the angry mob of protesters.

The Crystal Palace inside the Parque del Retiro. We played some football and frisbee in the yard across the pond from this place. Not bad!

Supposedly, this is the geographic center of Madrid and Spain.

Laura and Emily enjoying their Gelato. I enjoyed some too! Mine was a cone with a scoop of mint and a scoop of chocolate (that tasted like brownie batter). Yum!

This didgeridoo player was awesome!

I want to stay at this hotel someday.

Random door pic. Would have been better without the poster stuck to it.

Random street pic. I wonder if the locals realize how cool the architecture is. They have awesome architecture and sculptures all around them. I wonder if they take it for granted.
